Compendium of Curiosites Challenge #2

Posted on

I’m getting my challenge piece done just under the wire!  Head over to StudioL3 to see all the fabulous art created this week.  The technique this week is on page 58 of Compendium of Curiosities Vol. 2, get your signed copy over at Tim’s website.

I made a couple of cards for my stash using the technique.  I used my Tag & Bookplate Die to cut folded cardstock to create my cards.

Here’s the black one open, I’ll add a sentiment or write a message in it when I’m ready to send it.

A new challenge will be announced tomorrow morning.  I’m hoping to be a bit quicker this time!  Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.

Compendium of Curiosities 2 – Challenge #1

Posted on

After the fun of last year’s Compendium of Curiosities challenge, Linda at StudioL3 has begun the Compendium of Curiosities 2 Challenge.  Click on the link for all the details of the challenge.  Be sure and head over to Tim Holtz’ blog for an autographed copy: Compendium of Curiosities 2 so you can join in.  Simon Says Stamp is sponsoring this week’s challenge.

I created a card for my entry:

I used the Butterflight On the Edge die and Mini Butterflies Movers & Shapers for my technique.  I used a rainbow of Distress Ink for the stamping.  (I used the technique shared by Tim here.)

My card is also entered in the Simon Says Stamp and Show a Lord Tim Technique and Inspiration Emporium Challenge: Water Coloring.

Let me know what you think of my card.  Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great weekend!

I’m a graduate!!

Posted on

The great people over at OnlineCardClasses made us a graduate button:

I used it and some cutoffs (and “fails”) from the class to create a cover for a book I put together with all the PDFs from the class.

I used chipboard covered with Tim’s Retro Grunge Paper Stash.  I bound it with my Cinch and a coil.  It looks so much better in real life, but the dark day is cooperating with photography!

Thanks for stopping by.  I love reading your comments and thank those of you who have become followers.

Creative Chemistry 101 by Tim Holtz

I’ve been taking a fabulous online class the last two weeks: Creative Chemistry 101 by Tim Holtz presented by OnlineCardClasses.com.  The $35 dollar class fee is well worth it.  The class is interactive and will continue to be until April 9.  After that, participants have lifetime access to all the class materials, gallery viewing and reading the forums (where Tim answered questions).

Day 1

Day 1 began our journey by teaching us the various properties and ways to use products.  As always, Tim encourages using what you have and playing.

Day 2

Day 2 emphasized Distress Ink.  Here are the three tags I created:

Wrinkle-Free Distress, Brushless Water Color & Blended Spritz & Flick

If you want to learn more about the products in your stash, I highly recommend this class.  Stay tuned for more!
