Happy 5th Anniversary, Ink Stains!

Posted on

Roni at Ink Stains is celebrating her blog’s fifth anniversary with a blog hop.  She asked us to create an altered Altoid tin for the hop.  I had never done one of these before so Roni sent me a couple of tins and a lot of encouragement.  I made this tin as a gift for my son.  I used images of my grandson from newborn to the present.

Here’s the lid:

The next two photos show the insert folded out:

I’m happy with the way my tin turned out.  It was a learning experience and I’m planning my next one!  Thanks for stopping by, I love reading your comments.
Be sure and head over to Roni’s blog to check out some fabulous tins and a chance to win some great prizes.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Posted on

I hope everyone is enjoying family time this weekend.  Thirty-one years ago today I gave birth to my son.  It wasn’t Thanksgiving day that year but he’s had a few times of celebrating being our family’s “little turkey!”

We’ll be taking him out to dinner on Saturday and so I wanted to create him a card.  This week’s Compendium of Curiosities Challenge 29 at Studio L3 was the perfect technique. The Texture Fade Technique can be found on page 64 of Tim Holtz: A Compendium of Curiosities, Volume 2.

Here’s the card I made:

I hope Jeremy will like it.  Thanks for stopping by.  Next week, I’ll be joining a blog hop and the little gift I’m making will be featured.

Hugs, Vic
