Ten, oh, clock!

Posted on

Challenge #10 for the Compendium of Curiosities #3 at StudioL3 is using Tim’s Assemblage Clock.  The possibilities for using this fun “blank canvas” are endless.  Be sure to check out the Curiosity Crew and other challenge entries.   You can find Tim’s basic information about the assemblage clock on page 33 of Compendium of Curiosities #3.

I took my clock apart and used gesso, Distress Paints, Distress Crackle Paint, Distress Inks, Stickles and a ton of stash goodies on it.  Here are the parts before I re-assembled it.

The back – not much of this ended showing in the final piece:

10 back 8-31-2014 11-56-33 PM

The painted clock base:

10 empty2 8-31-2014 11-58-25 PM

The insert:

10 insert 8-31-2014 11-58-43 PM

Two shots of my completed clock:

10 full 9-3-2014 1-00-05 PM

10 side 9-3-2014 12-57-55 PM

I need to pick up some more of these, working on this one gave some ideas for gifts to create.  The Funkie Junkie Boutique is the sponsor Challenge 10, and  a fabulous $25 shopping spree is the prize.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for your kind comments!

  2. You just had to go and out-do yourself again, didn’t you? How do you come up with these ideas, Vic? I know how busy your life is & I don’t know how you find the time, energy or inspiration to make all of this gorgeous art. As my friend Melissa would say, ” you are amazeballs!”. L.

  10. Wow Vic! Your clock is awesome! I love your shabby chic-ish but very vintage style on this. The flowers and stick pins are so pretty and beautifully finish off the exterior of that gorgeously done clock finish! I also love your “Capture life’s moments” word band. That is such a sweet sentiment for a clock! Your interior with it’s layers is beautiful, too. I love having more than one layer of elements to look at on the interior. Sort of like peeking into a window! 🙂 Thanks so much for sharing your clock with us at CC3C. It’s lovely! ❤ Candy

  14. Just beautiful, Vic! I love the flowers spilling out all over, the pearls framing the front and your photo is perfect. Even with all the abundance of flowers & framing (which I LoVE), that photo still draws the eye. Lovely, very well done!

  21. Oh Vic…I absolutely love this. I have a baby project coming up and this would be perfect for the project. I’ll have to get a photo of mom and baby sitting in the rocker and put that in the back of the clock. Thank you so much for the inspiration!

    Big smiles,
