The time has come!

Posted on

With Christmas only about a month away, I decided it’s time for me to dedicate some art time to the festive holiday.  The latest Studio L3 CofC3 challenge, number 15, is the Cabinet Card Pocket. The Cabinet Card Pocket technique is found on page 38 of Compendium of Curiosities 3, by Tim Holtz.  There’s a chance to win some fabulous prizes donated by the ever generous Tim and Mario, and this challenge’s sponsor, Inspiration Emporium.

I used a Santa photo of my sister and me taken in 1960!  My uncle stopped by our house and took us to a fire station to visit with Santa.  As you can see in the photo, my little sister was not impressed!

After I painted my 8 x 10 canvas with Faded Jeans Distress Paint, I used Snowflake Tinsel Embossing Powder for the snowflakes and Seafoam White EP for the swirls.  A red glaze pen made the little dots on the swirls.  I used goodies from my stash to finish it off.

I’m so glad you stopped by and, as always, I love reading you comments. Until next time, Vic

  3. Vic…I love your canvas! It’s awesome and I really love the photograph of you and your sister visiting Santa. Aren’t those old photos just keepsakes? And now you’ve created this lovely cabinet card canvas to immortalize your 1960 moment with Mr. Claus! The blue and white is so striking! Thanks for sharing with all of us at CC3C. ❤ Candy
